We’re back for a new Business of Writing session at this year’s Write Festival! Local early-stage and aspiring writers of all styles and genres, this one is for you.
You have the plot, the characters, the creativity; maybe your manuscript is ready to go – but what comes next? At this free event, Business & IP Centre officers Hannah Hoare, Elaine Cusack and John Cunningham will talk you through some of the key factors early-stage and aspiring writers often don’t consider when it comes to selling their books, including:
- What are some of the routes to getting published?
- How can writers promote their work, and earn a living?
- What are the rules around using AI generated material?
- How can you prove copyright over your work, and protect your story and characters?
In addition, author Glynis Drew will discuss publishing her DCI Caron Bell novel series, sharing insight and tips!
We will end with an open mic session, for writers to share short extracts of their work with a supportive audience. You will get the chance to sign up for an open mic slot on the day.
