Background

Simon is a tourism consultant with hands-on experience of building and growing visitor economy businesses. He has scaled an adventure activities business from start-up to over 10,000 clients per year and has won multiple tourism awards.

Today, Simon works with small and medium-sized tourism businesses to develop their offer, attract the right customers, and grow sustainably. His practical, experience-led approach helps businesses focus on what will actually drive bookings and revenue.

He continues to run and deliver tourism experiences, giving him current, hands-on insight into what works in today’s market, including leading adventure and coastal experiences in the North East. He is also a member of the North East Regenerative Tourism Taskforce and is passionate about ensuring tourism benefits local communities and that local culture and identity are reflected in the region’s tourism offer.

Originally trained as a marine biologist, he remains a strong advocate for sustainability and the natural environment.
