Background

Our Patent Attorney in Residence is David Corbyn. David is a Chartered UK Patent & Trade Mark Attorney and European Patent Attorney and he is a partner at Bailey Walsh & Co. — based across the North of England, having an office on Newcastle’s Quayside.

David has extensive experience advising people about patent and trade mark issues.  He has expertise in identifying potential IP opportunities, advising on the most appropriate IP strategy for a particular organisation and carrying out the stages to secure this IP protection.

Within patents David covers most areas, but his areas of specialism are mechanical, engineering, chemical and pharmaceutical. He has experience in drafting patent applications and prosecuting them through to grant, advising and aiding clients with their international filing strategies, and representing clients in opposition and appeal proceedings at the European Patent Office.

His trade mark qualifications complement his patent work and allow him to provide all round IP advice.
