Jackie runs BrickHouse, a small business providing copy and content strategy services for small businesses that give particular importance to personal relationships with their clients. A journalist by background and leaning, she talks to her audience A LOT about the importance of long-form content (blogs, newsletters, articles), telling stories at every opportunity, and the power of a solid book for your business profile and credibility. She’s also completely incapable of reading ANYTHING without proofing and editing it in her head.

It’s becoming increasingly clear: People not only buy from people, they do business of any kind with people, REAL people with good stories to tell — and in that space, small business owners finally have the edge! As a business owner, your personal business story and journey have never been more important. Jackie sees it as BrickHouse’s mission to help small business owners everywhere stand up, dig into what motivates them and get heard.

She also runs workshops and gives talks on the importance (and underrated power!) of storytelling for businesses and writes a column (Write Here Write Now!) for the online women’s business magazine, The Female CEO–Create, Evolve, Overcome. It provides writing and content strategy advice, with subjects like ‘4 Techniques For Writing Convincing Copy’ and ‘Why You as a Small Business Owner NEED a Content Creation Strategy’.
