Background

Jess is a passionate leader in sustainable food waste reduction and brings a wealth of experience to our panel of experts.

Co-founder of BIND Newcastle, a not-for-profit Community Interest Company, and food waste hub, BIND connects local people, businesses, social enterprises and civic organisations to use positive, creative approaches to reduce food waste and drive behaviour change. Jess is also director of Magic Hat Café, using surplus ingredients to offer affordable, nutritious meals within creative and inclusive spaces and set ups.

Jess has developed and advised on numerous initiatives to improve food waste across public, private and not for profit business. Adopting creative culinary approaches to ensure food isn’t wasted, surpluses are redistributed, and people have access to affordable produce and supply.
