Chris is a well connected food and drink industry leader with over 25 years’ experience across hospitality, farming, food and drink.

As CEO of Food and Drink North East – the region’s only ‘farm to plate’ trade organisation – he supports a network of 250+ members, championing local food systems and sustainable supply chains.

Chris has worked locally, nationally and internationally, specialising in ethical sourcing, product development, as well as opening new international markets for food and drink brands.

His practical insights are grounded in real-world experience, giving him a deep understanding of food from field to plate.

A strong regional advocate, Chris represents the North East on DEFRA’s Food and Drink Sector Council.

He is also co-director of We Are Local Heroes – a storytelling platform celebrating food, place, and community through podcasts, film, and events.

A writer, curator, and passionate industry voice, Chris brings clarity, creativity, and purpose to every project he leads.
