Start-up Day will be extra special this year for BIPC North East, as this will be our first in person event for 18 months and will be focussing on Green Growth and Sustainability, which are not only THE hot topics of the moment, but are subjects that the BIPC North East team are really passionate about.
For businesses who want to learn more about the core principles and benefits of making their business sustainable, as well as keeping up to date on best practices, then join us on Thursday 11 November at Bewick Hall, Newcastle City Library, for an interactive day of free talks and practical advice sessions delivered by our Experts in Residence.
Our event is designed to help you to:

Our live programme includes some fantastic speakers who can share with attendees their expert knowledge, success stories, top tips on going green along with how local businesses can make a difference to the future of our environment.
1.00pm: Welcome & Introductions
1.10pm: Victoria Robertshaw: Delicious Planet Consultancy – After being born & raised on her family farm, Victoria is passionate about the environment and strives to make the world a better place and describes herself as an action-led environmentalist. Discover Victoria’s inspiring success story as to how she developed her family farm shop and moving on to the launch of greenstreet.org.uk
1.55pm: Sustainability and Green Business Expert Ian Brown – Explore why it is important that businesses should consider green & sustainable practices in their growth strategy. This session will be brought to life by Ian’s vast experience within this field, complemented by practical examples which will provide invaluable insight and key takeaways for attendees.
2.50pm: Keynote speaker from Santander
3.00pm: Changing Trends in Consumer Spending What are your customers buying? Why do SMEs need to be aware of green/sustainable trends?
3.10pm: Carbon Foot Printing Expert James Staniforth Want to know what ‘carbon neutral’ means? Interested in reducing your own carbon footprint? Then join James for this interactive session. Attendees will learn how to build a strategy to reduce their carbon footprint along with the many benefits this will bring to their business.
3.40pm: Funding and protection for new green innovations and practices.
4.15pm: Business Advice Expert Melissa Middleton (PNE) Melissa’s purpose led work not only empowers start -ups to grow & flourish but she advises her many clients on how to grow sustainably. Join Melissa on exploring the hot topic of Sustainability filled with interactive activities and key takeaways
4.45pm: Close and networking buffet till 5.45
